Request for Recipes
We are in the process of adding a collection of recipes for you chef's who want to serve new and wonderful dishes at your table. And of course we encourage you to purchase only wild, natural seafood since we believe it to be the most nutritious and it also helps continue to provide jobs for our Union fishermen. Eat on the Wild Side!!!!

If you have a favorite halibut, sablefish (black cod) or crab recipe that you would like to share with us please email sara@dsfu.org with your recipe so we can share it with others.

For your information we are providing the following Alaska Seafood Nutrition Information as published by the
Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute. Values are for 100gram edible portions cooked dry heat except Snow Crab and Pacific Oysters which are values based on 100 grams raw. Source: Values from USDA National Nutrient Database (www.nal.usda.gov), released August 15, 2002. Omega-3 values represent the sum of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

We realize the salmon industry has done a GREAT marketing job publicizing the health benefits of the omega-3 fatty acid content of salmon, however, you might want to take note that sablefish is even higher in omega-3.
